Possible closure at Guangzhou Xinfeng Port.

Santa Fe has advised The Mover that there are unofficial rumours that the Guangzhou Xinfeng Port in China, just inland from Hong Kong, will stop operations and close by December 31, 2011.

No formal announcement or notice from the government has yet been made however many of the shipping companies have already received this information and have informed customers to stop sending shipments to Guangzhou Xinfeng Port.

Shipments that are on their way/under customs clearance from now until December 31, 2011 may be transferred to an alternative port but decisions will be made on a case by case basis. Santa Fe will send out new updates once more information is available.
