Brazilian customs officers agree to strike indefinitely from Monday 18 June, 2012.
Transportes Fink in Brazil has advised that a long-term strike of the country’s customs officers is imminent. The Union of Customs Officers has called a number of 24-hour strikes recently. At a recent meeting nearly 80% of voters agreed to hold an indefinite strike from Monday 18 June, 2012. Transportes Fink said that it is as yet unclear whether the strike will go ahead. More information will be provided as the situation develops. Meanwhile shippers with goods arriving in Brazil should advise their customers of potential delays.
