The award includes two contracts: one for storage, and one for local moving.
The Delegation of European Union (EU) contract for all EU local staffing was awarded to Washington, D.C.-based moving company Star International Movers after a competitive bid selection process. The announcement was made today by Star International Movers (Star).
The award includes two contracts: one for storage, and one for local moving. Star will store approximately 70,000 to 90,000 pounds of EU furniture inventory in its secure warehouses in Sterling, VA.
Star's bar coding and digital categorization of inventory was a key factor in winning the contract, according to Star officials.
"We were pleased to be selected by the European Union to handle their storage and moving needs. Our commitment to using the industry's latest technological tools for efficient and accurate inventory control and warehousing enables us to offer the EU the service they needed to efficiently assist their staff," says Jimmy Re, President of Star.
