FIDI is expecting a high turnout for its 2019 conference which takes place in the Dutch city of Amsterdam, 31 March-2 April.

FIDI Conference 2019 - Amsterdam
Indeed, the venue alone, the historic Grand Hotel, is an attraction in itself, made up of 50 houses and other buildings to form a single hotel. FIDI has bought-out the entire premises for the conference, giving delegates exclusive use of its many facilities for the full four days.

The business sessions will include a keynote speech and panel discussion about the emerging use of Blockchain in the industry.  The aim is to make this a practical and interactive discussion allowing attendees to explore how the new technology will change the way they do business in the future. Another discussion will focus on the changing demographics of the expats.  The session will be hosted by Katia Vlachos, who recently published an excellent book, entitled A Great Move.

One highlight of the conference will be the bi-annual presidential transition where the gavel will pass to the 45th president of FIDI.

Some other highlights:

  • Digital marketing workshop: tangible tips and tricks on social media for movers who do not have a marketing agency taking care of this;
  • Various tours in the vicinity of Amsterdam, from Keukenhof and the city of Alkmaar (famous for its cheese market), to driving through the Zaanstreek in an old Citroen deux-chevaux;
  • EY workshop on risk management;
  • The usual FIDI Golf Tournament at ‘The Dutch’, the KLM Open course, which is normally never accessible to non-members;
  • A Golf Clinic, also at The Dutch, for those who always wanted to play golf but are reluctant to measure themselves with the pros in the moving industry.

As well as informative business sessions and entertainment, the conference’s focus will be on high-quality networking with some of the world’s top moving professionals in one of Europe’s most exciting and enchanting cities.
