Muslim Holiday in November commence from today.

Ministries, customs offices and government institutions in Muslim countries will be closed for Eid al-Adha, the Muslim holiday to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael, as an act of obedience to God.

This may cause shipping and transport delays in the following countries on these specific dates.  Because the commencement of this religious holiday depends on the sighting of the moon and scientific calculations, the exact dates will vary from country to country:

  • In Afghanistan: from Sunday, November 6 to Friday, November 11
  • In Azerbaijan: from Sunday, November 6 to Wednesday, November 9
  • In Bosnia: Monday, November 7
  • In Iraq:
    • Baghdad: Sunday, November 6 to Wednesday, November 9
    • Erbil: from Friday, November 4 to Friday, November 11
  • In Kosovo: Monday, November 7
  • In Kuwait: from Friday, November 4 to Saturday, November 12
  • In Kyrgyzstan: Monday, November 7
  • In Qatar: from Thursday, November 3 to Tuesday, November 8
  • In Pakistan: from Monday, November 7 to Wednesday, November 9
