Congestion at Los Angeles

Oct 29 | 2014

There is significant congestion at Long Beach and Los Angeles ports.

Reports say that it’s taking up to 10 days longer to retrieve containers from the twin ports than usual.  This is caused by a significant increase in traffic and changed arrangements for the supply of trailers to hauliers.  The problem doesn’t look like it’s going to be eased any time soon.

Ports around the country are facing similar issues but the problems are worse in southern California as the twin ports handle about 40% of U.S. imports.
