The two-year grace period that allowed owners of hybrid vehicles to avoid paying the London congestion charge has ended. Under the old system vehicles with emissions rated at 75 to 100 grams of CO2 per kilometre could enter the congestion zone for free. From 24th June, 2016 hybrids have had to pay the daily charge of £11.50, too.
