Hans Methorst & Ben SchmidtThe two companies have been working informally together since 2009 but will now operate internationally under the name of Schmidt Global Relocations. Methorst Verhuizers will continue to trade under its own name within the Netherlands.

Ben Schmidt has been appointed CCO and is repsonsible for the total revenue of the group, while Hans Methorst takes the role of CEO and will run the operational side of the business.

“We are now both operating from one location in Woudenberg within an hour of Amsterdam and the port of Rotterdam,” said Ben Schmidt. “Now we are able do the planning of our European trips together, which is much more cost effective. We have 30 trucks and vans running through Europe every week and 75 employees. We have partnerships with agents all over the world for FCL, LCL and groupage shipments, especially to countries such as Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Dubai.”

Ben continued, “Our team of move managers and dispatchers make sure we deliver the shipments ASAP all over Europe. We can collect in all European countries and consolidate from the Netherlands. This is a great service for overseas agents to get their moves going from Europe to anywhere in the world.”

The Group has two bonded warehouses in the Netherlands with over 6,000m2 capacity and also offers services including customs clearance, sea freight, handyman services, airfreight and car transportation.

Schmidt Global Relocations is already a member of IAM and IMA and intends to join FIDI/FAIM in the near future.

“We are aiming to join FIDI in 2020 to increase our level of quality. The merger means we are now one of the bigger players in the Netherlands and we have great people on board with a lot of experience delivering great service to our customers,” said Ben.
