The latest research from Statista.com has crowned the UK as the self storage capital of Europe - by some considerable distance.
Storage solutions and removals experts at LOVESPACE have studied the information which shows there is an estimated 4.7m square metres of lettable self storage in the UK as of 2021. LOVESPACE is not a traditional self storage service. It is innovating to make self storage even more convenient by offering a collection and delivery service of goods to be stored.
LOVESPACE is keen to build partnerships with warehousing companies and logistics partners across the UK to help keep up with demand for its services. Companies in this sector could access the growing market through LOVESPACE’s platform, without having to build their own facility.
France and Spain are second and third in the list, compiled by Statista’s research department in November 2021, with the continent still in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic. But such is the UK’s domination of the sector, it has more than three times as much self storage space as France.
A spokesperson for LOVESPACE said: “Demand for self storage shows no sign of slowing down even as we come out of the pandemic. In fact, with the ability to travel further afield again, there is likely to be even more demand for these services.”

LOVESPACE recently launched new drive-up secure self storage units at a number of car parks in London, alongside a new UK-wide removals service. This is alongside its storage with collection and delivery service which can help renters move or make the most of their space at home.
