John Mason International Movers has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, affirming its support for the military community, and has called on other members of the international moving community to do the same.
Over 12,000 UK organisations have signed the covenant.
The event at their Huyton base saw staff and senior leaders come together to see Lieutenant Commander Tom Pinfold RN co-sign the Covenant with Executive Director Simon Hood. The day also saw John Mason International given the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme’s (ERS) Bronze Award by the MoD (Ministry of Defence).
The Armed Forces Covenant was introduced in 2000 under Tony Blair’s Labour government. It acts as a public pledge to recognise and support members of the Armed Forces Community and their families. In this spirit, John Mason International is now offering a discounted rate on its services to those connected to the Armed Services.
Simon said, “Making this pledge was incredibly important to all of us at John Mason International. Recognising the sacrifice members of the Armed Services and their families make to protect our society was crucial for us.” Simon believes that all moving companies can do more to ensure veterans receive the upmost support across all their services. “Now’s the time for the removals sector to step up and show its support for the Armed Forces by signing up to the Covenant.”
With 2025 marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe), John Mason International has chosen to become a sponsor of veterans’ charity Helping Homeless Veterans UK. “For us at John Mason International, the Covenant is more than a public promise,” said Simon. “It centres our focus on providing support to members of the Armed Forces wherever we can. It’s why we chose to support Helping Homeless Veterans UK. 100% of donations are spent on helping veterans and we’re proud to support their much-needed work.”
