John Mason to open Northern Removals Hub for UK moving companies

John Mason International has unveiled ambitious plans to open a new hub for UK moving companies.

John Mason International Executive Director Simon Hood revealed company plans to re-establish itself on a new site in West Lancashire at the recent BAR conference in LiverpoolJohn Mason International’s new headquarters will also act as a regional trading hub, opening doors for removals companies looking to work in the north.

From summer 2026, John Mason International will move from their Huyton base to a 27,250 ft2 Northern Removals Hub on the Merseyside-Lancashire border. In an important moment in the company’s 141-year history, the team hopes the hub can open doors for removals companies looking to expand their operations in the region.

The new trading hub will feature two dock levellers, multiple shutter doors, and a shared office space for partners from across the UK. In an economy where removals companies face rising business rates and leases, John Mason’s ‘Northern Removals Hub’ provides everything organisations need to run a leaner, more efficient operation.

Simon Hood, Executive Director of John Mason International, said: “This new facility is more than a warehouse — it’s a dedicated hub for movers who want to streamline their international operations in the north. We’ve built it specifically to meet the needs of trade clients who require fast turnaround, secure storage, and a team who knows the complexities of overseas shipping.”

The new hub, located on the edge of the Simonswood Industrial estate, is strategically positioned next to several major transport links.  With close proximity to the Port of Liverpool and major highways, including the M6 and M58, partners will be able to save on leases, business rates, warehouse handling, and other utilities costs.

Simon continued: “This move represents a new and exciting chapter in John Mason International’s 141-year history. We hope the opening of our new base in West Lancashire can become a home for movers in the north, and the first cog in a network supporting trade across the region.”

The new site marks an exciting turning point for the organisation, coming off the back of several important milestones for John Mason International, following a record year in terms of revenue in 2022 and being bestowed the King’s Award for Enterprise in 2024.

The John Mason Hub provides space for partner organisations to operate including turnkey offices, co-working meeting rooms, and workspaces for teams of all sizes.

Simon concluded: “At John Mason International, we’re always looking forward to ways to improve our services and aid more clients across the globe. Expanding our base was an important step along that journey. West Lancashire is an exciting place to be for us, with a growing economy, population, and emerging opportunities. All of us are thrilled for the possibilities coming down the track.”
