Important information about ECMT Permits

Oct 21 | 2025

From 2026, the process for issuing ECMT Permits will move fully online.

Paper permits and logbooks will no longer be required; instead, hauliers will receive a QR code and log all journey details digitally via the International Transport Forum (ITF) website.

Later this year, the ITF website will open for familiarisation. Until 2026, permit holders will still receive paper permits and logbooks, alongside online access.

ECMT Permits are only required for specific journeys, including third cross-trade trips in the EU, cross-trade from the EU to a non-EU ECMT country, or journeys to Armenia.
