S Jones Containers has been named Manufacturing Innovator of the Year at the 2025 Innovation Awards, recognising its leadership in specialist container conversions and advanced battery storage solutions.
The Innovation Awards celebrate organisations and individuals dedicated to driving innovation across manufacturing and technology. S Jones Containers was announced as the category winner at the awards dinner in Birmingham, following a year-long selection process that included a competitive public vote and a panel interview with judges.
Judges were particularly impressed by the company’s specialist conversions division and its sustained investment in lithium-ion battery storage and testing solutions. Over the past eight years, S Jones Containers has developed a comprehensive range of converted shipping containers designed to safely store and test high-energy-density batteries, supporting clients across the automotive, energy and engineering sectors.
Andrew Nicholls, Head of Conversions at S Jones Containers, said the award reflected years of hard work and innovation. He highlighted the company’s journey to becoming a trusted UK partner for containerised battery storage, emphasising the collective effort behind the achievement.
The judges also recognised S Jones Containers’ commitment to improving industry safety awareness. With limited guidance available on the handling and storage of lithium-ion batteries, the company has actively promoted best practice through educational initiatives. This included hosting expert panel discussions at The Fire Safety Event and the Battery Cells and Systems Expo, bringing together organisations such as Electrical Safety First, the Fire Protection Association and Warwick Manufacturing Group.
Dr Richard Fallon, CEO of Technology Supply Chain, praised the strength of competition in 2025 and congratulated S Jones Containers on its success.
The award caps a strong year for the business, which has also received multiple regional and national accolades. Alongside battery storage and testing units, S Jones Conversions continues to deliver bespoke plant rooms, workshops and mobile laboratories, all designed and built in-house to meet exact customer requirements.
