UK removals and relocation specialist Bournes marked the close of its 150th anniversary year with a company-wide celebration, recognising the employees who have shaped the business across generations.

Bringing colleagues together from across the organisation, the event highlighted the culture and continuity that have supported Bournes’ evolution from a family-run enterprise into a modern, internationally connected relocation provider. It also paid tribute to those who laid the foundations long before, and to the many individuals whose dedication and professionalism have helped build the company’s trusted reputation.

The evening included speeches from current Managing Director Wesley Bourne and former Managing Director Eric Bourne, representing the fifth and fourth generations of family leadership. Sharing personal memories of growing up in the business, they reflected on the company’s journey and the wider transformation of the removals and relocation sector, while underlining the enduring people-first values at the heart of Bournes

“Reaching 150 years is an incredible milestone, but it is our people past and present who truly define Bournes,” said Wesley Bourne. Both leaders thanked employees for their commitment and adaptability through periods of challenge and opportunity.

Colleagues celebrated together away from day-to-day operations, sharing stories, dancing, and raising a toast to a remarkable chapter. The anniversary, Bournes says, reaffirms its heritage - and its future focus on team culture, operational expertise and long-term client relationships.
