Relosys and 300X Academy have joined together to launch the “first online training and certification for movers”.
A new partnership between technology firm Relosys and training provider 300X Academy has produced what they call the “moving industry’s first comprehensive online labor training and certification program”.
Delivered through the LaborNet platform, the initiative sets a new benchmark for workforce development in the sector. Offered in both English and Spanish, the program provides a structured curriculum aimed at raising professional standards and consistency across the industry.
Raising standards
Until now, most movers have learned their trade on the job, often through informal instruction that varied widely from company to company.
The new LaborNet 300X Academy Online program directly addresses this gap. “By making training available entirely online and accessible anywhere,” says Jeff Layton, co-founder and COO of Relosys, “it creates a consistent, scalable way to equip both new and seasoned movers with the knowledge and skills needed to perform at a professional level.”
A key feature is the integration of LaborNet’s universal background checks with the 300X Academy Online certification. This dual approach gives staff a clear path to demonstrate their verified skills while providing moving companies and their customers with peace of mind that certified workers represent true professionalism.
“For too long,” continues Jeff, “training in our industry has depended on who you happened to work for and what they could offer. This program creates a level playing field. Every mover now has the opportunity to learn how to provide quality service and prove they can deliver professional results. That’s good for the worker, the company, and the customer.”
A modern curriculum
The training consists of more than 30 interactive modules, each designed to build practical competence and professionalism.
Lessons cover topics such as:
- mover etiquette;
- safety protocols;
- strategic wrapping and packing techniques;
- proper tape gun use;
- custom boxing.
Modules also emphasize effective communication, zero-tolerance drug and alcohol use policies, and understanding how to perform inventory at the home.
This breadth ensures that the curriculum goes far beyond lifting and carrying. It aims to instil movers with a well-rounded understanding of how to perform the job safely, efficiently, and courteously.
The program’s delivery via the LaborNet platform means it is mobile-friendly and accessible at any time. Movers can complete training at their own pace, whether at home, between jobs, or on the road. With Spanish and English versions available, it is designed to reach a broad cross-section of the industry’s workforce.
