Giving back together

Crown Worldwide Group is celebrating the global impact of its “Giving Back Together” initiative, a key element of its 60th anniversary year and a reflection of the organisation’s longstanding commitment to community support and social responsibility.

Inspired by Founder and Chairman Jim Thompson’s philosophy of giving back, the initiative has united Crown employees worldwide in volunteer work and fundraising aligned with two UN Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education and Climate Action.

Supported by Crown’s policy offering 16 hours of paid volunteer time annually, employees contributed nearly 4,500 volunteer hours across more than 50 community projects. The initiative took the form of a global “Diamond Relay,” with each Crown office dedicating a week to local activities before handing over to the next region.

Highlights include Crown Vietnam cycling 340km to raise funds for the Saigon Children’s Charity; Crown Malaysia supporting Buku Jalanan Chow Kit in aid of underprivileged children; and India’s Kolkata team donating supplies to local students. In the Middle East, teams partnered with Thrift for Good to promote reuse and support education, while in the UK, staff fundraised for the Waverley Association for Special People and delivered financial literacy workshops in schools.

Jennifer Harvey, Crown Worldwide Group CEO, said the project reflects the company’s culture and purpose. “Giving back has shaped who we are, and it continues to guide where we’re headed.”
