It has emerged that information contained within digital photos taken on modern cameras (including mobile phones) provide more information than might be wise. As well as showing a photo of a residence or home contents, they can also tell the views exactly where the photo was taken, within a few feet.

Removal companies often take photographs as part of their survey procedure.  These can be of the access to the premises or of particularly valuable items, those that are tricky to handle or even those that are already damaged. This is fine as long as those photos are not kept electronically in an unsecured place where they can be viewed by anyone, or posted on the Internet or social media sites. Criminals can, and according to reports from the USA, have used these images to locate valuable items and plan robberies.

It might be a long shot but nobody wants to give the crooks any opportunity they don’t already have.  More importantly, perhaps, you don’t want to be implicated.
