The latest DfT information on road goods vehicles travelling to mainland Europe
Summary of latest key results
In 2010:
- 2.47 million goods vehicles travelled from Great Britain to mainland Europe in 2010, 4% higher than the 2009 total.
- 1.79 million of these goods vehicles were powered vehicles, up 2% on the 2009 figure, and 673 thousand were unaccompanied trailers, up 10% on 2009.
During Q4 2010:
- 619 thousand goods vehicles travelled from Great Britain to mainland Europe during Q4 2010, an increase of 2% on Q4 2009.
- 458 thousand of these goods vehicles were powered vehicles, up 3% on Q4 2009, and 161 thousand were unaccompanied trailers, at a similar level compared to the Q4 2009 figure.
