Shipment delays possible during Russian fuel crisis

Russia is experiencing critical shortages of petrol.

Critical shortages in petrol are likely to cause delays and affect transportation costs in and out of Russia.

Move One has advised The Mover that shipments to and from St. Petersburg, Russia may become subject to possible delays and increased costs due to national fuel shortages.

Fuel shortages in Russia have been growing more acute since February, when the government capped the domestic retail price of petrol. Shortages reached a crisis point last week when petrol stations in the Altai region on the border with Kazakhstan and Mongolia ran out of fuel. Critical shortages have been reported across the country, including St. Petersburg, which is expected to affect all road- and ocean-going deliveries.
