Containerships MOL Maneuver and Zhen He have collided.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced that the MOL-operated containership MOL Maneuver collided with the containership Zhen He - believed to be operated by the China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) - while under way on the open seas southeast of Hong Kong, on February 22, 2012, at around 17:45 pm, Japan time.
None of the crew was injured and no oil leak has been observed. The MOL Maneuver is capable of sailing under its own power. Meanwhile, MOLS says it is investigating the situation on the other ship, but has not identified any injured persons or oil leakage.
The MOL Maneuver serves on the Europe/Far East Asia route, and was under way from Singapore to Yantian.
