After the official ticket website for the London 2012 Olympics attracted widespread criticism, a Milton Keynes based web development firm decided to help.
They created a free website which lists all available sessions on a single screen; something which – remarkably – is not possible from the official website.
In less than 3 days, the website at tickets.prominenthosting.com has helped more than 7,500 people discover the available tickets. The system checks the official ticket website every 15 minutes, so the list of which sessions are available is as accurate as possible.
Fans of the site include Dame Kelly Holmes, who forwarded the link to her 45,000 followers on Twitter.
Iain Row, Managing Director of Prominent Media, which built the website explains, “I found that the official website was a pain to use, because you had to search individually through each sport. I thought that a computer could do the job much more efficiently, so I spoke to my senior developer and together we built the site in about 4 hours.”
He added, “This is the sort of project we do a lot of, where our websites have to talk to other systems. What was great about this one was that we were able to help so many people.”
To view the list of available sessions, visit tickets.prominenthosting.com on your computer or smartphone.
