Victoria and Tasmania will be hanging up their laptops for the Labour day public holiday on March 11 (next Monday). In Tasmania it’s even called Eight Hours day.
Labour Day is an annual public holiday but its date varies across the states and territories. Northern Territory will have a day off on 6 May whereas Queensland, South Australia, ACT and New South Wales will have to wait until 7 October for a break. If you are wondering about Western Australia, you’ve missed it – its Labour day was 4 March (last Monday).
