Graham Barnett started working with Doree Bonner in 1985; he first job being, to sweep the yard. It was a humble start to what would become a remarkable and inspiring career.

Graham's story is deeply rooted in the history of Doree Bonner. His grandfather, Geoff Barnett, dedicated his working life to Bonners of Welling. His father, also Geoff, served the company for an incredible 49 years. His mother worked as an upholsterer in the Bonners shop, and both his brothers, Lee and Steve, have also been part of the Doree Bonner family. Collectively, the Barnetts have contributed over 150 years of service - a true legacy.

Over the decades, Graham has done it all - yard sweeper, van crew, forklift driver, warehouse foreman, HGV driver, and now, warehouse manager with added responsibilities. His passion for the job, the variety of work, the camaraderie, and especially the European travel (including a memorable move in Oslo) have all kept him motivated and engaged.

When asked what’s kept him with the company all these years, Graham said, “It started with the family connection, but I’ve enjoyed every role. I’ve loved the travelling, meeting people, and working with a great team. Every day brings something different.”

Geoff Watson and Gordon Lyall said to Graham: “You’ve been a superb representative of the company, and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside you for 30 of those 40 years.” Jason Herbert, Managing Director, added, “Congratulations on 40 remarkable years. You’ve been a cornerstone of this organisation. Your commitment, professionalism, and integrity have left a lasting mark.”

To mark the occasion, Jason and Kieran Simpson (Group Manager) presented Graham with a selection of gifts and a beautifully engraved tankard - now proudly displayed beside the one his father received years ago.
