‘Cleaner Routes’ feature in AirTrack app launched for Clean Air Day

Sep 08 | 2025

To mark Sunday, 7 September’s 'Clean Air Day for Blue Skies 2025', Air Aware Labs has launched 'Cleaner Routes', a major new feature within the AirTrack app.

The update provides real-time, hyper-local, and personalised route suggestions based on air pollution exposure - empowering users to choose healthier ways to move through their cities.

Whatever the user’s mode of transport, Cleaner Routes identifies paths with lower pollution levels, helping users reduce their daily exposure to harmful pollutants, such as PM2.5 and N02. The new feature builds on AirTrack’s mission to personalise air quality data and make invisible risks visible in day-to-day life.

Poor air quality remains a critical health crisis - responsible for over 8 million deaths globally each year, and the second leading cause of death worldwide after high blood pressure. Yet until now, most people have lacked the tools to make informed decisions about their own exposure during everyday activities

Following its integration with Strava (April 2024), the web app launch (September 2024) and the app launch (April 2025), AirTrack is already supporting over 2,200 users over 100 countries, with more than 190,000 activities recorded. Air quality affects how people move, train, and recover. By understanding pollution levels, users can make simple choices, such as adjusting time or route, to feel stronger, perform better, and protect long-term health. Click here to download the app.

Key features now include:

  • Clean Route Suggestions
  • Route Scores
  • Time Quality Scores
