The 2025 European awards of FEDESSA (Federation of European Self Storage Associations) were announced during the FEDESSA Conference & Trade Show in Dublin on 2 October.
The ceremony recognised outstanding performance across the self-storage sector and highlighted some of the key players elevating standards and innovation.
- In the category Expansion/Conversion of the Year, the winner was The Self Storage Company – Aston Birmingham for its impressive redevelopment and conversion of its Aston facility.
- For Independent Store of the Year, Green Goat Storage, Fulham, came out top, marking the success of an agile, single-site operator.
- The Innovation Award went to DSOC for its ‘Suspicious Activity AI’ initiative - a strong signal that the self-storage sector is embracing advanced digital technologies to enhance security and operational efficiency.
- In the Manager of the Year category, the accolade was awarded to Anabel López Fernández of ZebraBox Spain, recognising outstanding leadership and people-management at a continental level.
- The Multi-Site Operator Store of the Year was claimed by Safestore (Carshalton).
- Attention to environmental and operational sustainability was celebrated with the Sustainability Award, given to Shurgard for its comprehensive initiatives across multiple sites.
- The External Storage Site of the Year was awarded to Blue Self Storage – Llanishen.
- The Marketing Campaign of the Year recognised Nesta for their June 2025 campaign.
These winners demonstrate how the self-storage sector is progressing – through expansion, agile operations, digital innovation, leadership, sustainability and effective marketing.
