The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has announced that its new honorary president is Anne McIntosh - Baroness McIntosh of Pickering.

Baroness McIntosh replaces Ivon Moore-Brabazon - Lord Brabazon of Tara - who recently announced his decision to stand down having served in the role for 26 years. 

In a distinguished political career, Baroness McIntosh represented the Thirsk & Malton and Vale of York constituencies as a Conservative Member of Parliament and served as an MEP before being awarded a life peerage and taking her place in the House of Lords in 2015.

Baroness McIntosh said, “This is a very vibrant time for the logistics industry. The world is going through a period of change, which is bringing a unique set of challenges yet extraordinary opportunities to the sector. UKWA’s ability to broker trusted information between members and policy makers means that the role of the Association as the voice of the logistics industry has never been more significant.”

UKWA’s CEO, Peter Ward, commented, “UKWA is indebted to Lord Brabazon for his outstanding support over more than a quarter of a century and we are delighted to be able to announce such a capable successor as Baroness McIntosh.
