Rafael Moreno, Founder of Moreno International in Mexico, has died at the age of 83. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on 12 February, 2025.
Rafael was born in Havana, Cuba and he migrated to the United States in 1961. He founded his moving company in 1978 in Monterrey before expanding it to include operations in Mexico City and San Luis Potosi. He served as president of PAIMA (Pan American International Moving Association) from 2002 to 2004.
The company tribute said, “Rafael was a true leader, known for his integrity, work ethic, and dedication. He built a respected international moving company from nothing, based upon the principles of hard work and professionalism. He cemented a legacy not only through his professional achievements but also as a great husband, father, and mentor. His impact in our lives will forever be remembered and cherished,”.
Gary Burke, from Burke Brothers in the UK, said that he had known Rafael for over 20 years. “He was never scared to speak his mind and always offered a different view ruffling many feathers,” he said. Gary said that Rafael has been a very valuable member of the PAIMA Board.
On behalf of PAIMA, Antonio Tremols, Executive Director, offered his sincere condolences to Raphael’s family and friends. “He certainly left his mark in the pages of PAIMA history, for which we are grateful.”
