John Smart, fellow and past national chairman of IFWRI and freeman of the City of London, died peacefully, in hospital, on 13 April, after a long battle with Parkinsons.

John spent his entire working life of 60 years in the removals industry, including spells of management with Pickfords, Bishop’s Move and Darvel's of Reading, culminating in proprietorship of Smart Movers in Swindon for almost 40 years.

John leaves Jan, his wife of 56 years, and four sons, two of whom will continue the future management of the family business.  John's funeral will take place at Kingsdown Crematorium near Swindon on Wednesday, 21 May at 11:15am.
