Derek Canfield has marked 40 years with T Kidd & Son Ltd (Kidds) of Bridlington and Hornsea.

To honour his dedication, he was presented with a copy of the 1996 award recognising Kidds as the first transport company to join the Investors in People programme and the second removal company, after Abels, to gain the accreditation.

Over the past 20 years, Derek has been instrumental in developing Kidds’ Training School at the Hornsea site, working closely with the late Mike Price, former BAR Director of Training. The centre offers one- to five-day courses, with accommodation provided locally, and Derek has built a unique collection of company logo shirts from trainees.

The presentation was made by retired former owner Trevor Kidd, who hired Derek four decades ago. Founded over a century ago, Kidds and sister firm Sandersons were acquired by the Duggleby Group in 2023.
