OpenTech Alliance strengthens global reach

OpenTech Alliance, a leading PropTech provider in the self-storage sector, has announced three major initiatives, underscoring its global expansion and focus on technology-driven solutions for operators.

The company has entered into an exclusive partnership with Uniti AI, a specialist in artificial intelligence for real estate, to provide human escalation services for Uniti’s VoiceAI product within the self-storage industry. Through this collaboration, OpenTech will also offer Uniti’s broader suite of AI solutions, including voice agents and integrated payment services. The combined offering provides a 24/7 customer service model across voice, e-mail, SMS/WhatsApp, and web chat, while ensuring seamless transfer to a live person when needed.

Francesco Decamilli, CEO of Uniti, explained: “We are building AI agents designed to work alongside human teams, not replace them. Together with OpenTech, operators gain the efficiency of automation with the reassurance of human support.”

The AI-powered system integrates with facility management software to handle lead capture, reservations, payments, and customer support, freeing staff to focus on higher-value tasks while maintaining service quality.

Alongside this partnership, OpenTech has announced the appointment of Gavin Koorey as Director for Australia and New Zealand, reflecting the company’s growing presence in the region. With more than two decades of experience as a self-storage owner-operator in Sydney, Koorey brings practical insight into both operations and technology adoption. He will focus on strengthening relationships with local operators and introducing OpenTech’s expanding portfolio of digital tools.

Commenting on his appointment, Koorey said: “Technology is critical to the future of self-storage. I look forward to helping operators across Australasia adopt solutions that enhance both operational performance and the customer experience.”

At the same time, OpenTech has confirmed the availability of Insomniac StoreTracker, its latest cloud-based management platform, launched at the Self-Storage Association (SSA) 2025 Fall Conference & Trade Show. Developed with direct operator feedback, StoreTracker consolidates task management, inventory control, auctions, maintenance, and compliance processes into one system, providing real-time visibility across single sites and multi-facility portfolios.

Early users, including the William Warren Group, highlighted its role in standardising workflows and improving oversight. Future integration with OpenTech’s wider technology ecosystem is planned to create a connected operational platform.

Together, these developments highlight OpenTech Alliance’s strategy of combining AI-driven innovation, regional investment, and operational tools to support the evolving needs of the global self storage industry.
